My favorite memory of Lauren is the day he introduced me to Karen. I had seen Lauren at Renaissance Weekend in Banff for the 4th of July in 2016, and when he visited Chicago a month later we all met up at the Gage for brunch.

I had always loved and admired Lauren—I feel equally in love with Karen. We had such a fun time, and it was during this meeting, describing my vision for a company I had given up on, that both Lauren and Karen encouraged me to give it another shot. I did try again...and I failed again. But it was OK, because there is a time for all things and it wasn’t my time yet.

But that trying reignited my desire to start my company...and last year I was funded by an angel investor...it had taken me 10 years.

So thank you Lauren, and Karen, for helping me pursue a passion and my chance to change children’s healthcare for the better.
