Wishing you a Happy 70th birthday!  Aren’t we lucky to be alive at these older ages?  You have always been wise, insightful and a connector, but now you have the added benefit of obtaining more life experiences to add to your knowledge base. 

What I love about our personal friendship is that it has evolved from you being an interesting business connection of Rick’s, to your becoming his friend, to you then becoming my friend.  

My most special memory of you is that you took the time to note Rick’s next scan date and then call a few days after the date to find out how it went.  Little did you know back then that scan dates would become such an important part of your life.  You just instinctively knew it was important to check in with Rick, and he always cherished those chats.

Being a caretaker is a difficult task, and one that will wear us down if we don’t take care of ourselves.  I hope you are finding ways to nurture yourself along the way.   A special birthday seems like a perfect time for a bit of self-indulgence.
