Happy 70th Birthday Lauren,

After 70 years, we all thought that we knew who you are.  Very socially progressive - - and then some and some and some...  Very thoughtful and probing - - even somewhat exhausting at times.  And very kind and caring - - making the rest of us feel a bit embarrassed that we haven’t stepped up to the plate.

But what a surprise - - beneath this outward veneer we discovered the wild side of Lauren.  Who would have guessed that this traditional, generational and sensitive liberal thinking adult would give up his palatial 20 acre, 10,000 square foot estate and most of his personal  belongings and artifacts and fly 3000 miles to the other side of the US to live on a Houseboat in the Bay area.  A houseboat!!  Only Cart Grant lived on a houseboat - - but that was with Sofia Lauren.

Who would have guessed?  Where did this come from?  Just wild!   But for Lauren (and Karen too) it seemed to make a lot of sense.  It definitely was a surprise to us - - so who knows what else we’ll find out about Lauren at his next big birthday celebration.

In the meantime, have a very happy and healthy 70th birthday and enjoy your views of the water from your wonderful houseboat.
